Did you have an internship while you were a student? if so where?
As a student, I had two internships. One was at the ITS Help Desk at Mississippi State. The other internship was at The Local Learning Community Foundation, which is a non-profit organization for people with disabilities.
Why did you choose Mississippi State?
I chose Mississippi State because of the many opportunities I could have after graduation and to have a fresh start away from home.
What was your favorite class/memory/moment while earning your degree in ITS?
My favorite class was Emerging Technologies. One project I remember greatly was programming a robot to complete a course successfully from start to finish. My group was the only group in class that got their robot to the finish line. After our success, my group went on to become close friends for the remainder of my undergraduate experience.
What is one piece of advice you would pass on to new ITS students about the programs or college in general?
Gain as much experience as can. Apply for internships and volunteer at churches and non-profit organizations. Reach out to people around town who made need technical support.
What advice would you give students as they enter into their workplace?
Be yourself and apply your skill set to your job position. Always have fun. Never be afraid to ask questions.
What are some of your hobbies/interests?
Some of my hobbies include playing video games, fishing, washing my car, and playing spades. I could eat Chinese food every day.
